Bengali Food Festival & Cooking Contest at Mercure Hyderabad KCP

There is a saying in Bengali that Bengalis have “baromasheteroparbon” which literally means that Bengalis celebrate thirteen festivals in twelve months. Perfectly timed around the biggest upcoming Bengali Festival i.e. Durga Puja, Mercure Hyderabad KCP has organized Bengali Food Festival from 12th September to 22nd September 2019.

Chef Dipak Adhikary along with his team has curated an authentic Bengali menu and spread with a good mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The buffet has been crafted to beautifully to blend the aromatic flavoursof the region. A prefect use ofpanchphoron, the five essential spices of the region, namely mustard, fenugreek seed, cumin seed, aniseed, and black cumin seed will take guest to the culinary journey of Bengal. The specialty of Bengali food lies in the perfect blend of sweet and spicy flavors. The lavish spread of delicacies includes traditional dishes like LuchiKosaaMangso, IlishBhapa, ChingriMalai Curry, Radhabollobi, Chocchori etc and many more. The all-time favourite Bengali desserts such as the Rosogolla, MishtiDoi, etc. were also there at this extravagant food affair.

Also, Mercure Hyderabad KCP in association with Inner Being- the Nutri snack company organised the Bengali Cooking Contest, inviting Attapur Bengali Association of Hyderabad to showcase their culinary skills. The participants were given secret ingredient baskets and 1 hour 40 mins to prepare the authentic dishes from the homeland of Bengal. The jury evaluated the dishes on the basis of flavors, presentation, texture and innovation.
