QCIL ties up with Intuitive to expand robotic surgeries in Tier 2 & 3 cities
Hyderabad, March 24, 2026: Quality Care India Ltd. (QCIL), a Hyderabad-based healthcare platform, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Intuitive, a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery, to expand access to advanced surgical care in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
As part of the collaboration, QCIL will roll out robotic-assisted surgery across its hospital network, CARE Hospitals, KIMSHEALTH and Evercare Hospitals, through a phased multi-system installation plan.
The move is aimed at strengthening surgical capabilities while making minimally invasive procedures more accessible to patients beyond metro cities.

QCIL said the initiative is part of its broader strategy to enhance advanced surgical infrastructure in emerging healthcare markets. The expansion will enable surgeons and care teams to perform robotic-assisted procedures across multiple specialties, including thoracic, transplant, urology, gynaecology, general surgery and surgical oncology.
Speaking on the development, Varun Khanna, Group Managing Director, QCIL, said the focus will be on building structured clinical capabilities and ensuring consistency across centres. He added that the collaboration will help bring advanced surgical care closer to patients in non-metro regions.
Rohitt Mahajan, Vice President and General Manager, Intuitive India, said the partnership will help improve patient access to minimally invasive procedures, which typically result in faster recovery and better outcomes. He noted that the collaboration aligns with the shared goal of improving patient care through innovation.
Under the MoU, Intuitive will provide training, technology support and ongoing service assistance to surgeons and clinical teams across QCIL hospitals. The aim is to ensure standardised programme implementation and improved clinical outcomes.
Robotic-assisted surgery has been gaining traction in India, with over 200 da Vinci systems currently installed and more than 1,500 surgeons trained in the technology. Globally, over 16.9 million procedures have been performed using da Vinci systems.
Industry experts note that expanding such technologies to smaller cities could help bridge the gap in access to advanced healthcare, which is often concentrated in metropolitan centres.
QCIL operates a network of hospitals across India and South Asia, and has been focusing on expanding its presence in emerging markets through investments in advanced medical technologies and clinical infrastructure.
